CASE STUDY: WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING

For the 2022 Home Entertainment release of Where The Crawdads Sing – starring Daisy Edger-Jones – we were able to execute a multi-faceted PR campaign to reflect the themes of the brief. To draw on the appealing elements of the film, we split the activity into 3 separate pillars.

To bring to light the beauty of the nature that runs throughout the film, we partnered with Elmley Nature Reserve in Kent and invited press and influencers on a stunning 2-day press trip. Across the two days, the guests had an outdoor cooking lesson, a fact-filled bird tour around the reserve, a painting class and to top it off, a beautiful 3 course meal on the estate. As if that wasn’t enough, they got to stay in one of the cosy lodges situated on the grasslands and wake up to nothing but nature.  Elmley also provided this experience as a competition which we placed with Stylist magazine.

Referencing the book and highlighting the fashion that runs strong through the film, we worked with influencers such as GBBO’s Laura Adlington and fashion & literary TikToker Ruby Granger to bring the film to a range of female audiences.

As always, we ran a comprehensive press office to secure reviews, competitions and general coverage. We also had cute mailers that were gifts to film press and influencers to emphasise the ‘watch at home’ message – these included the book, candles, popcorn and code to watch the film.
