CASE STUDY: HOPPER: AN AMERICAN LOVE STORY

Exhibition on Screen’s HOPPER: AN AMERICAN LOVE STORY was the first UK feature film about influential artist Edward Hopper.

The film, out in cinemas in October 2022, re-evaluated his life and legacy and took a profound look into his art, his eccentric lifestyle, and his relationships.

To support the nationwide release we scored two great national press hits - an interview with director Phil Grabsky for The Guardian and a DPS in The Times about how Hopper’s work is still pertinent today. Both pieces ran in print and online.

To reach the film’s older target audience a ticket giveaway ran in the entertainment pages of The Daily Telegraph – entrants scanned a QR code to enter and to join the EoS mailing list.

Partners included Picturehouse cinemas and https://artuk.org/ who ran social promotions to win tickets.

To reach the regions where the film was showing we worked with local reviewers to secure positive pieces in regional online and print press.
